Since the pandemic has started, we have all experienced difficulties in many different ways. Although we don’t have much control over the world around us; we do have control over how we cope. There are many resources out there available, whether that is over video chat, a phone call, or messaging. Furthermore, there are many great resources that focus on Indigenous peoples. We are all in this together, and you’re not alone. Below I will discuss incredible resources given during this time.
Mental Health Resources:
There are many different mental health resources being offered such as hotlines, wellness tips, support groups, webinars, and more.

Government of Canada: Mental Health Counselling Benefits
The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program offers mental health counselling benefits for First Nations and Inuit people. Although the Indigenous Student Centre is closed until further notice, they are still offering support for Indigenous students.
