I want to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning students. I hope you will have a rewarding and successful academic year. The Global Health Office is here to support your success as a member of the Dalhousie University community. To that end, we want to ensure that you know how to locate the wide variety of resources available to you and that you are aware of and have easy access to the programs and opportunities that pertain to you as a student.
We invite you to join us for Global Health Day on September 24 from 3-5 pm in the Tupper Link. This Open House will showcase faculty and student research initiatives and education programs in Global Health. You will meet leaders in our community who are involved in global health research, clinical practice and medical education. It will be a wonderful opportunity to identify research questions, mentors and community organizations that you can work with throughout your academic training.
As a student, there are many opportunities to get involved in global health at Dalhousie. There are summer programs where you can work in clinical settings with our partner organizations in Tanzania and The Gambia. You can participate in a local global health elective in Saint John or Halifax. We also have other programs including:
- Advocates in Global Health Certificate
- Student Groups that focus on Global Health
- Global Health Awards
- Journal Club
- Cafe Scientifique to learn about leading global health researchers
Join our mailing list and you will receive a biweekly bulletin which will keep you up to date on events, job postings and funding opportunities in global health.
Welcome to Dalhousie University. We look forward to working with you throughout the year.
