On August 26, 2026, the Office of Community Engagement was ecstatic to participate in the O-week presentations to the incoming med 1 class.
From the moment we walked into the room, it was clear just how excited and enthusiastic this group of students are to begin their medical journey. The room was filled with such incredible energy, curiosity, and anticipation as students listened, asked questions, and connected with one another. It was truly wonderful to see so many eager faces and to feel the sense of community beginning to take shape.
During the presentation, we had the opportunity to introduce students to the Office of Community Engagement and share some of the ways they can connect, get involved, and build community throughout their time at Dalhousie Medicine. We hope they left feeling inspired by the many opportunities ahead and knowing that they have a community here to support them along the way.
Here are just a few ways that students can connect with us:
Black health programs (PLANS)
Community Engaged Service Learning (CESL)
We are so grateful to have been able to share this exciting moment with the incoming class. The energy in the room was a wonderful reminder of just how special the beginning of a new journey
can be.
Welcome to Dalhousie Medicine, Med 1s!
We are so excited to have you here and cannot wait to see all that you will bring to our community!
For those who were unable to attend our presentation you can find the PDF of the presentation here.
