Your guide to dining in residence
First and foremost, our team wants to thank you for working with us towards maintaining a safe and positive environment in the dining halls during these difficult times.
Here is a recap of some of the delicious food we served up and fun dining hall events and station pop-ups that occurred throughout the year! We couldn’t have done it without you, and we have had a blast engaging with each and every one of you!
It’s our priority to provide students with and introduce them to the local food on their plates. In March, our second Local Food Day of the semester celebrated two local Atlantic farms, den Haan Greenhouses and Valley Mushrooms, who we source produce from year-round.
February and March were busy with events featuring creative menus and locally sourced products in our dining halls. Here are the highlights!

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, Philip Keddy from Charles Keddy Farms joined Rai-Lee Gardiner at Risley Hall for a local food day featuring Valley Harvest Sweet Potatoes from his farm!
As classes wrapped up and students started prepping for exams, Rai-Lee Gardiner hit the meal halls with a bounty of snacking options for those long study sessions at her “Make your own snack mix” pop-up.
Last month we welcomed Andrew Bishop, the owner/operator of Noggins Corner for our second Local Food Day of the year! Our menu featured unique dishes with apples galore – the Apple Sweet Potato soup was a huge a hit! Last month, we hosted Angus Bonnyman from Bonnyman’s Blueberries in Tatamagouche for ‘Local Food Day!’. We featured a number of dishes with blueberries as the main ingredient – Blueberry cake, blueberry chicken, and even blueberry pizza (This one was a hit!).
