We Heard You!
Based on your comments and feedback from the fall semester we have made a few changes to the menu options and availability!
We have expanded our variety of simply prepared vegetables on rotation in the menu this term. You will find different options at lunch and dinner! Plant based protein varieties have also been increased and are available at the vegan station at both the Howe and Shirreff dining halls. Lasagna is now a regular menu item!
Keep an eye out for regular chef features! Every second Tuesday one of our chefs will feature a dish of their own! We had a ton of positive feedback on chef features last term- so are making a commitment to doing them regularly.
New Item Alert! A delicious Kenyan beef stew with kachumbari and jollof rice is now being served!
Would you like to see a recipe featured on the menu? You can submit your favorite recipe through our Tigers Choice form. You will be contacted if your recipe has been selected as our feature!
Changes & Improvements
We know people have mostly adapted to the new service style set in place in the dining halls by now. We are here to help and prioritize your safety. Please don’t hesitate to ask our friendly staff if you can’t find something or if you wish something was available that you don’t see. Some students are still surprised to learn some of the items like condiments and seasonings we keep on hand for students. When you have a chance – take the time to read through not only the orange “feature menus” but also the purple menu signs- they show you items that are always available and can help you change things up!
Dietary Restrictions
Look out for the Vegan, Vegetarian, No-Gluten, No-Dairy, Halal, and MSC (Marine Stewardship Counsel Sustainably sourced seafood) labels at each station. The labels are there to help you navigate what menu items have been customized to meet certain dietary restrictions. If you have any questions on specific ingredients be sure to talk to the manager. Also, if you need additional help navigating the labels or your dietary restrictions reach out to our Dietitian Rai-Lee by emailing her at dietitian@dal.ca.
