Ergonomics Abstracts is an multidisciplinary database, pulling together the scattered strands of research and literature surrounding the science of humans in the work environment. Subject coverage extends from abattoirs to zoos. It is useful for psychology, physiology, biomechanics, job design, human-computer interaction, safety science, human engineering, medicine, occupational health, sport and transport. One of its key strengths is the journal coverage. Because the study of ergonomics and human factors is still relatively young, the journal literature sprawls across disciplines, for this reason Ergonomics Abstracts indexes journals well beyond some of our traditional health databases such as PubMed or CINAHL.
