Congratulations to Charles Kalinsky (BScN student) who won the Grand Prize of a Kindle Fire for filling in the Kellogg Library Services Survey.

Thanks to Charles and 70 others who took the time to complete our survey.  The feedback will be a great help as we plan our new library space coming January 2016. Our thanks to Elsevier for their generous donation of the Kindle Fire.

 

The Kellogg Library now provides 3D printing services for our users. Producing replicas, models, and everyday objects has never been easier, more affordable ($1.00/hour), or more accessible as it is with in-house 3D printing technology.

Using a MakerBot Replicator 3D printer, we can easily take a file and turn it into a physical object you can hold in your hand. Many objects have already been designed and can be found in 3D printing object libraries online, like Thingiverse (www.thingiverse.com), but you can make your own by using free programs like SketchUp (www.sketchup.com).

Big changes are coming to the Kellogg Health Sciences Library as mentioned in a posting from February 11.  A new Learning Commons space will be opening in the CHEB building (now under construction)  in January 2016.  In addition, Kellogg Library staff and collections will be “taking the show on the road” to temporary quarters (but not too far away) in December 2015, while our existing main floor is renovated. The scheduled return date is September 2016. Drop in to the Kellogg Library to have a look at the plans on display and get an idea of the shape our new space will take.

In anticipation of these changes, we’d like your feedback on services you consider essential in a new library space.
