Local Food Day is a day where we celebrate our Atlantic Canadian farmers who work so hard to ensure we have fresh, local product to serve to you!
In November, we featured blueberries from Bonnyman’s Wild Blueberries in Tatamagouche. The menu was carefully planned by Executive Chef Joe Farrell where he creatively used blueberries as an ingredient in most of our dishes. On the menu we had Blueberry Ricotta Pizza, Blueberry Grilled Cheese and even Blueberry Glazed Chicken!
We were also lucky to have our wild blueberry farmer Angus Bonnyman on campus! Angus talked to many students about farming wild blueberries and what makes it different than most other crops!
We will be holding another Local Food Day in the new year!
