Until last April the Libraries subscribed to the Alternative Press Index through OCLC, but our subscription has now been switched over to Ebsco. This is just to alert users of the change of platform.
Alternative Press Index (API) is a bibliographic database of journal, newspaper, and magazine articles from over 500 international alternative, radical, and left periodicals. Born of the New Left, the API was launched in 1969 to provide access to the emerging theories and practices of radical social change. The API also covers:
- Ecology
- Democracy and Anarchism
- Feminism and Organized Labor
- Indigenous Peoples and Gays/Lesbians
- Comprehensive Coverage of Alternative Sources
With over 330,000 records, the Alternative Press Index is considered the most comprehensive and up-to-date guide to alternative sources of information online. It’s available to Dal users both on and off campus, so check it out for yourself!
