This Wednesday the Dalhousie Libraries will be launching our new website as part of “Wave One” of Dal’s web revitalization project. We’ve used this timely opportunity to rethink the way we present ourselves and our information based on usability testing. Much more than a new look, our site is being streamlined and reconfigured to make it more user-friendly. Key features include:
We hope you like what you see, but even more—we hope you find the new library site much easier to use than our old one. A website is always a work in progress. We’d really appreciate your feedback so please use that red feedback buttonat the bottom of the page to let us know what you think!
The Sexton Library hours for Thanksgiving Monday, October 11th will be 10:00am to 6:00pm.
The Sexton Library would like to congratulate Electrical Engineering Graduate student Raam Chennai Jagannathan. Raam is the winner of the draw for a $50 Dalhousie Bookstore Giftcard. All Sexton Library accounts set up during the month of September were eligible for the draw.
It’s only been a week since the official launch of the 2010 Knovel Challenge contest and over 700 students from over 70 universities have answered 3 questions correctly – and are now qualified to win an iPad, a $500 cash prize, and gift cards. In addition, three universities have already passed the magic number of 100 correct entries- MIT, Middle East Technical University and University of Arkansas- guaranteeing them contest within the contest winners.
In response to the record breaking participation, Knovel is upping the stakes. To reward the schools with the most activity, we’re adding an additional prize for the top performing school. At the end of the contest, a student at the school with the most entries will be awarded a brand new eco-friendly Toshiba laptop.
