Due to recent vacancies and recommendations that have come out of the recent Senate Review of the Dalhousie Libraries, we are pleased to announce the following appointments have been made, effective July 1, 2016.
Associate University Librarian, Resources & Discovery – Allison Fulford
Allie is adding Resources to her AUL Discovery and Head of Sexton Library roles. “The work done by Resources and Discovery staff at the Dal Libraries is connected and complementary. I am very happy now to have the opportunity to work with our Resources staff since it means collaborating with even more terrific colleagues as we plan, purchase, organize, and deploy library collections,” said Allie.
Associate University Librarian, Library Services – Elaine MacInnis
This is a title change for Elaine, reflecting expanded responsibilities for services across the Dal Libraries, in addition to her Head of MacRae role. She has stepped down from the Head of Killam role. “I’m delighted to be working with even more staff in an expanded role as AUL Library Services, as we continue to develop our services across the Dal Libraries. My time as Head of Killam has been a rewarding one, but the Killam Library is in great hands under the leadership of Sarah Stevenson and I look forward to working with her in her new role,” said Elaine.
Interim Head of the W.K. Kellogg Health Sciences Library – Ann Barrett
This is a one-year appointment for Ann, based on her previous appointment as Assistant Head. She will be reporting to the AUL Library Services. “I look forward to working with an outstanding team who are ready and able to adapt to the many changes facing the Kellogg Library in the coming year. I have no doubt they will take all challenges and create opportunities to provide better service to our users. My goal is to foster an environment that allows them to achieve that,” said Ann.
Interim Head of the Killam Memorial Library – Sarah Stevenson
This is a one-year appointment for Sarah based on her previous appointment as Assistant Head. She will be reporting to the AUL Library Services. “The last two Heads of the Killam Library have set a high standard for the position. I’m looking forward to the challenges of the position and building on the many accomplishments of my predecessors,” said Sarah.
Thanks to Allie, Elaine, Ann and Sarah for taking on these new roles and rising to the challenge of leading change in the Dalhousie Libraries.
