• Providing research and reference services to law students and faculty, other Dalhousie students, members of the legal community and members of the public

• Conducting inquiries into the copyright policies of academic publishers and the rights holders of Dalhousie faculty publications

• Submitting faculty publications to the Social Science Research Network’s Legal Scholarship Network, an international Open Access Repository

• Assisting with course migration to the new BbLearn platform

Veronika at the Dunn Law Library.

Originally from British Columbia, she moved to Halifax last year to begin Dalhousie’s combined Bachelor of Laws and Master of Library & Information Studies (JD/MLIS) program. Veronika has a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Northern British Columbia. She is the co-chair of Dalhousie’s Canadian Library Association (CLA) Student Chapter and the editorial chair of Dalhousie’s Journal of Interdisciplinary Management.

“It’s been an amazing summer. I’ve learned so much about legal research, reference services, copyright and Open Access. The reference librarians at the Law Library are a pleasure to work with and to learn from and the summer research students have been really welcoming as well. It’s such a community here and that atmosphere is a big part of what originally drew me to Dalhousie. All of the experiences I’ve had in the short time I’ve spent at the library have been great preparation for law school and for my career. I’m looking forward to spending another 3 years here!”

Besides working at the Dunn Law Library, Veronika’s library experience includes working in the circulation department at the Prince George Public Library in British Columbia and at the judicial library of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. She will be returning to her part-time position at the Law Library’s circulation department in September.
