A National Digital Infrastructure: ideas wanted!
The Leadership Council for Digital Infrastructure has launched a crowdsourcing campaign to get fresh ideas for how to build a world-leading advanced digital infrastructure ecosystem for Canada.
Your input is important and will inform the development of a policy framework and roadmap for achieving an advanced DI. Visit the Council’s new website at digitalleadership.ca and participate early in the campaign.
Broad participation from the entire DI (digital infrastructure) community will help ensure a more integrated, inclusive, comprehensive, accessible and sustainable advanced DI ecosystem that will accelerate research, education and innovation in all sectors, and at all levels.
The campaign is open to all researchers, academic administrators, project managers in government and academe, students, policy makers and anyone else who stands to use and benefit from an advanced DI ecosystem in Canada.
Please share this notice widely through your networks.
Best wishes to Jenn Mitton
December 17, 2013 will mark the departure of Jenn Mitton, SIM’s Administrative Assistant. Jenn has been with SIM for four years; she started as our Communications and Records Officer, and eventually became our Administrative Assistant. Jenn has played an important role in SIM in many ways, including managing functions relating to finance, applications, human resources, the website, and our social media resources. On behalf of all my colleagues at SIM, I would like to thank Jenn for her many contributions to the School, and to congratulate her on her new position in another Dalhousie unit.

Best wishes for the holiday season
On behalf of my colleagues at the School of Information management, I would like to extend all my best wishes for the season to all MLIS and MIM students. Many of our MIM students had the opportunity to get together for lunch last Friday while they were in town for their intensive sessions. MLIS students held a very successful end-of-term party on Saturday night. I cannot resist including pictures of the special holiday cake that was created for Saturday’s party; it has made quite a buzz in the social media circles.
It has been our privilege and pleasure to work with you this term and we look forward to seeing you again, both virtually and in person, next year. To those of you who celebrate these occasions, Happy Hanukkah (belated), Happy Kwanzaa, and Merry Christmas.
