From SIMAA Chair, Lou Duggan:
It is my great pleasure to announce that our wonderful colleague and friend Susan Cleyle has been named the winner of the 2015 Dalhousie School of Information Management Outstanding Alumni Award!
This award honors a member of the Associated Alumni who has made an outstanding contribution as an information professional. In selecting the winner of this award, the Associated Alumni seek to honour remarkable records of professional responsibility, scholarship and publishing, innovation and leadership, service to our professional community and to the community-at-large. All of this, along with a demonstrated healthy dose of enthusiasm, commitment and dedication to our field are characteristic of SIM alumni.
Su Cleyle has an impressive record of leadership. She has contributed significantly to the advancement of library services and educational support at Memorial University Newfoundland, serving as Associate University Librarian for the Queen Elizabeth II Library, and currently as the Director of DELTS – Distance Education, Learning and Teaching Support. Su has shown an unwavering commitment to the library profession. In addition to her many committee appointments with organizations such as the Canadian Library Association, she fulfilled the role of President for the Atlantic Provinces Library Association in 2008/9, and continues her association work today as the highly respected chair of The Partnership of provincial and territorial library associations of Canada. Su is a remarkable colleague, mentor, coach, and friend to so many library workers in Newfoundland and across the country.
