On December 12, Dalhousie’s Master of Information Management (MIM) students presented research to representatives of the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) and invited guests, during an event called The Great Debates in Program Evaluation. The MIM students are completing their Program Evaluation course and this event provided an opportunity to further the discussion around theoretical and practical considerations of evaluation in today’s public and private sectors. The NS CES generously sponsored the event and a draw for three CES student memberships; the fortunate winners are shown in the attached picture, left to right: Dr. Kaireen Chaytor (Professor of the MIM Program Evaluation course), Judy Bahadoorsingh, Nancy Carter (NS CES Vice President), Jason Sidney and Celine Beauregard.

Congratulations to all the students. Your presentations were thought provoking and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed the session. Thanks to Dr. Chaytor for organizing the event and to the NS CES for their sponsorship. Hopefully this will be the first of many debates.
