Dr. Toni Samek (MLIS 1991), professor at the School of Library and Information Studies, University Alberta, is a 2012 recipient of the very prestigious 3M Teaching Fellowship. The 3M National Teaching Fellowships are Canada’s most prestigious teaching award. This is a wonderful achievement, Toni; you are an inspiration to us all.
Many congratulations, Toni! I am delighted to hear this and wonder if this is the first Canadian LIS faculty member to win this award? We need to start a “hall of fame” or some such for such stellar awards. Finally, this splendid news reminds me, yet again, that “SIM alumni rock!”
