Carolyn Liggins retired from the Dalhousie Libraries earlier this year. She spent the bulk of her career with the Libraries in the Killam, where she started working in 2002. Previous to that, she worked for eight years as a secretary in Dal’s Chemistry department.
During her time at the Killam Library Access Service Point, Carolyn became the go-to troubleshooter for the microfilm equipment, a task she enjoyed. Carolyn also had a reputation for being an eloquent writer. She excelled at preparing training instructions and the finished product could always be relied upon to be accurate, clear and concise.
For a time, she was a weekend student assistant supervisor and enjoyed working with the students. While working full time, Carolyn was often also a student herself. A true life-long learner, Carolyn took courses in math and in the Master of Library and Information Studies program at Dalhousie.
In 2017, Carolyn made the move to the Sexton Design & Technology Library where she worked as a library assistant at the service point. She provided front-line library support to the Dalhousie community and the public.
Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement, Carolyn. Best wishes from all your colleagues at the Dalhousie Libraries.
