In celebration of African Heritage Month, staff at the University Archives have digitized a number of items relating to the University’s relationship with Black Nova Scotians, as well as the Centre for African Studies, and the African Students’ Association. Among the items digitized is a report from the Department of Social Work, entitled “Breaking Barriers: Report of the Task Force on Access for Black and Native People,” which helped inform the Indigenous Blacks and Mi’kmaq Initiative at the Schulich School of Law.
Materials have been selected in accordance with the province’s 2015 theme “Social Justice-Roots of Progress.” We’ll be sharing links to these items on our Facebook page and the Libraries’ Twitter feed over the next couple weeks. Stay tuned!
