Ian Colford started working for the Dalhousie Libraries in 1985. Until recently, he was based at the Killam Library, although as the Collection Development Librarian, he had system-wide responsibilities.

In his new role, Ian will be located at the Sexton Library, working as the Librarian for Architecture, Planning, and Engineering.  He will also be the Coordinator of digitization services for SEXTONdigital.

“We are so happy and fortunate to have Ian with us at the Sexton Library—more accurately, back at the Sexton. He worked at the Sexton Library when he began his career at the Dalhousie Libraries, and now he’s returned! Ian is an experienced teacher, collections librarian, and a well-rounded and respected academic librarian. He has much to offer students, faculty, and our users in general on the Sexton Campus. I know that I, as well as the rest of his colleagues in the Sexton Library, feel so lucky to have him with us. We appreciate his experience, his insight on different types of issues, his sense of humour, and his warm and thoughtful presence in our Library,” said Allison Fulford, Head of the Sexton Library.

Ian, the staff at the Killam will miss you, but we know you’ll enjoy your new role at the Sexton Library.
