The passing of Norman Horrocks, and Alan MacDonald earlier this year, has almost brought to an end one of the most important chapters in Canadian librarianship and the history of the Killam Library. While Norman was perhaps not so directly involved with the building of the Killam, he was very much involved in the building of the many people who have given it life and purpose.
I will miss his humour, his love and unfailing enthusiasm for the profession and his caring nature. I will miss his too few visits to my office, his knowledge and his advice. Thank you Norman. It has been an honour, privilege and joy to know you.
William Maes, University Librarian
