Overdue books getting you down? Fret no more, clear your fines and your conscience with Food For Fines!
From January 18th to 27th, anyone owing book fines at the Dal Libraries may donate food items for the food bank in lieu of paying their fines. For every non-perishable food item donated, participating libraries will reduce fines by $2, to a maximum of $20. Cash paid for fines during this period will also be donated to the food bank.
Simply bring your food or cash donations to the Circulation Desk at any of the participating libraries* (e.g., if you owe fines at the Mount, you can make your donation at Saint Mary’s if it’s more convenient). Good for the food bank, good for the Libraries–good for you!
* Food For Fines is an initiative of the libraries at Mount St. Vincent University, Dalhousie University, University of King’s College, NSCAD University, Cape Breton University, Atlantic School of Theology, St. Francis Xavier University, Saint Mary’s University, Nova Scotia Agricultural College, and the Nova Scotia Community College.
