On August 26th, 2021, prompted by Sarah Horrocks, the first cohort of graduates from the Master of Information (MIM) program virtually celebrated their 10-year reunion.
Six of the eight graduates were in attendance along with several faculty members, and key members of the CEGE (Centre for Executive & Graduate Education) team. Dr. Sandra Toze, SIM Director, facilitated. Dr. Fiona Black reminisced and provided context about the inception of the program and received additional insight into how the MIM was born. Attendees gained new respect for the effort it took to get the program off the ground. Each person had the opportunity to give a brief update on their respective career trajectories over the past 10 years and the role the MIM program played in their successes. Faculty also updated the students on their careers and research accomplishments and announced upcoming adjustments to the program to make it even more user friendly. It was interesting to note that many graduates are now leading the digital strategy in their workplaces.
Congrats on your reunion. As always, we are proud to have very engaged and accomplished alumni here at SIM.
