Hello Dalhousie SIM Graduate,
I am Dr. Ann Curry, and I’m contacting you in my role as a member of the American Library Association’s accreditation panel (External Review Panel) reviewing the MLIS program for the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University. It is important that the External Review Panel gather information about the program from as many alumni as possible, including those who may not be able to attend the forum held at the University during the Panel’s visit October 13-16. If you could take a few moments to respond to the questions below, it would be very helpful to us. Your answers will remain absolutely confidential, and I will destroy upon receipt of your answers all identifying links to your identity. Your answers will not be used for any research purposes: they will be used only for supplementary information as we prepare our report to the Committee on Accreditation. Please email your responses to ann.curry@ualberta.ca by Sunday October 14th. Many thanks.
- Year of graduation?
- How well did the courses you took during your MLIS program prepare you for
- your first job? (not well, adequately, or very well?) Comments?
- your current job? (not well, adequately, or very well?) Comments?
- What course(s) that you took has proved to be the most useful in your professional career?
- What course(s) do you wish you could have taken had it been offered?
- Were you able to create a personal program of study (perhaps a Reading course) that met your needs?
- What led you to choose the Dalhousie School of Information Management? Would you still make that same decision?
