The ongoing goals of ARLIS/NA include increasing awareness of ARLIS/NA among library school students and encouraging library school students to consider art librarianship as a career. To these ends, the Society is offering the Gerd Muehsam Award. This is an annual award of $500 (plus up to $300 additional travel reimbursement to attend our annual conference) for a student paper or web project focused on a topic relevant to art librarianship or visual curatorship.
As Chair of the Gerd Muehsam Award Committee, I encourage you to pass on information of this award to your students. Students enrolled during the preceding eighteen months are eligible to apply. Details of the award are attached and an announcement is also available on the ARLIS/NA web site. Past recepients of the award are listed here.
