The Dalhousie School of Information Management Associated Alumni congratulates you on the completion of your MLIS and MIM degrees and welcomes  you as new Alumni. The school has a rich tradition of producing MLIS grads, but this fall marks the first batch of graduates from the Master of Information Management (MIM) degree. Well done!

The Associated Alumni is a wonderful peer network, comprised of professional librarians and information managers who have all stood where you’re standing now. From coast to coast, you’ll find us. As subscribers to this listserv, you’ll get updates on Alumni events and what your colleagues are doing. Here are some other great ways to stay in the loop:

The SIM Associated Alumni website; Facebook; and Twitter.

By networking with us, you’ll be able to get great career advice and stay in touch with friends. You’ll have the chance to get together with other Alumni across Canada and beyond, at conferences and events.

The Alumni Association also provides an opportunity to celebrate our achievements. Every September, the Association holds an Outstanding Alumni Award reception. It’s a great way to acknowledge the work we do, while reuniting with our classmates and colleagues. You can also get involved, by serving on the Associated Alumni Executive, or as one of the Standing Committee Representatives. Recruitment notices for these positions are issued every winter and spring.

With these words I bid you welcome to the Alumni Association. Should you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. You can reach me at david.ryan@msvu.ca I look forward to meeting you soon!

Sincerely,

David Ryan, MLIS
