Orientation 2011 has proven to be a very full, productive, and rewarding week.  It was exciting to meet the new incoming students and to welcome back our returning students.  I am impressed with the level of enthusiasm and energy that I witnessed this week.

I would like to thank the SIM administrative team of Shanna Balogh, Jenn Cox, and JoAnn Watson for their help in ensuring that this week’s activities was a success. Thanks also to Dr. Bertrum MacDonald for facilitating today’s conference session and, of course, to all the participants. The SIMSA executive and the team of student volunteers provided vital assistance throughout the week.

Special thanks and gratitude are due to returning student Elinor Crosby, who was responsible for coordinating the week’s activities.  Elinor was a consummate professional throughout the entire planning process and did an excellent job of welcoming our new students.
