INTERNSHIP: SEXTON DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY LIBRARY, DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY

THE SEXTON DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY LIBRARY at Dalhousie University, is seeking a School of Information Management student for part-time work, to begin September 2011 and continue through April 2012, with the possibility of renewal (full-time contract during Spring/Summer 2012).

THE SEXTON LIBRARY is an evolving digital environment serving the Dalhousie Faculties of Architecture & Planning, and Engineering

THE JOB:
The successful candidate will:

• receive training in the specialized tools and sources of our disciplines
• provide reference services
• assist with special projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

• registered in the 1st year MLIS program
• strong interest in serving the public
• ability to communicate well, orally and in writing
• interest in creating online tutorials
• interest in instruction
• interest in design and technology disciplines
• ability to work both independently and collaboratively

HOURS:
11 hours per week, Monday through Friday, as well as one weekend shift

PAY:     $12.50 / hour
