Join us as visiting iLab member, Marit Kristine Ådland, an assistant professor and PhD student from Oslo University College, presents a talk on her dissertation work. Marit’s work is part of the FIRE project – Facilitating Information Retrieval for Experts, a collaborative effort undertaken by Portland State University, Royal School of Library and Information Science, and Oslo University College. The project looks at how social tagging in domain specific documents or parts of documents, works over time as a tool for information retrieval, browsing or searching. Specifically her work involves social tagging in the health sciences field by using a Danish website (cancer.dk) managed by Kræftens bekempelse, the Danish Cancer Society, as a case study. Take a break from your office, bring your bagged lunch and we will provide the coffee or tea.
