Ready to strengthen your research skills?

Research Camp kicks off on May 12! This free, self-paced program is designed especially for graduate students, research assistants, and teaching assistants—but it’s open to all Dalhousie students, faculty, and staff.

Whether just starting your research journey or looking to sharpen your skills, Research Camp offers a solid foundation in literature searching, academic writing, information management, and the research process—from idea to publication.

The program includes:

  • Online modules on Brightspace, featuring short videos and interactive exercises
  • Live sessions (online, hybrid, and in-person) running throughout May and June

Earn digital badges as you complete modules and work toward certificates. Details about certificates are available on the Research Camp website.

Self-registration is now open! To join:

  1. Log into Brightspace
  2. Open the Academic Support menu
  3. Choose Self-Registration
  4. Find and select Research Camp 2025–2026

Register for Research Camp

Are you a graduate student, research assistant, or teaching assistant looking to develop your research skills? Research Camp is a comprehensive program that will take you through the research process from literature searching and writing all the way to publication.

The program is open to any student, faculty, or staff member at Dalhousie, but is specifically tailored to graduate students.

Research Camp will be offered as a series of online modules on Brightspace and live online sessions. Modules may include short video lectures and interactive exercises to help you brush up on your literature searching, writing, information management, and research skills.

By registering for this program, you will have access to all of the pre-recorded modules beginning on May 13, 2024. You also have the option to register for sessions in the program that will be delivered live (online) in May and June.

Students receive badges for completing modules in Research Camp and badges accumulated toward certificates. For a full list of available certificates, see the Certificate page on the Research Camp website.

  • Log into Brightspace
  • In the Academic Support menu, select Self-registration
  • From the list of courses, find and select Research Camp 2024-2025

Dal Libraries’ Research Camp is a comprehensive program that will take you through the research process from literature searching and writing all the way to publication. The program is open to any student, faculty, or staff member at Dalhousie, but is specifically tailored to graduate students.

Research Camp is offered as a series of online modules in Brightspace. Modules may include short video lectures and interactive exercises to help you brush up on your literature searching, writing, information management, and research skills. Some modules include recordings of live sessions that are offered every May/June as part of this program. The program is self-paced and participants can select which modules they would like to complete. By registering for this program, you will have access to all of the content until the end of March 2024.

Research Camp badges are available for module completion, and badges accumulate toward certificates. Check out the full list of available certificates.
