Alexa Reedman is a recent Bachelor of Management (BMgmt) graduate currently completing a Bachelor of Science degree. During her time in the BMgmt program, Alexa was very involved with the management community and even held the position of Management Society President for two years. Alexa’s involvement and experience played a large role in securing her current Event Coordinator position with the Marine Environmental Observation Prediction and Response Network (MEOPAR), however; she claims the resources available to her through Management Career Services played a significant role to her success as well:
“What I found most valuable were the one-on-one appointments I made with my Career and Recruitment Specialist while in my third year in particular. During these appointments I learned how to analyze job postings and how to create a tailored resume for every job I was applying for. I also learned how to effectively network with contacts and how to properly conduct informational interviews.”
Through her involvement with the BMgmt program, Alexa understands the value of defining your career interests and developing a scope in your job search. This is something that she believes MCS Career and Recruitment Specialists can help students achieve:
“The Bachelor of Management program is unique because it gives students the opportunity to study many subjects beyond the standard business skills. Because of the scope of the program, it is important to meet with MCS advisors to not only properly define your career interests, but also to advise you on how to connect with established individuals in specific industries and develop relationships with them that can lead to incredible post-graduate opportunities.”
“Your MCS Career and Recruitment Specialist is one the best resources you have in this program.”
