Meet Thomas Battle. Thomas is a 2015 MBA candidate currently working for the Starting Lean Initiative powered by the Norman Newman Centre for Entrepreneurship. In order to create opportunities for his future he decided to pursue his MBA with Dalhousie University’s Corporate Residency program.
So far Thomas feels his residency has been spectacular! He came into the Norman Newman Centre during an exciting period of change for the organization and has been active in supporting the Centre’s rebranding project, the ‘Starting Lean Initiative’.
His participation in the initiative has given him the amazing opportunity to travel around the world during his residency. He first traveled to Hubli, India where he experienced first-hand the innovation being created in the “Global South” region. He later traveled to North Carolina where he helped forge strong bonds between the entrepreneurship programs of Dalhousie University and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Thomas also offers 1st year CRMBA students with additional motivation beyond the travel opportunities:
“I would encourage anyone interested in Dalhousie’s MBA to just do it! It is not an easy program, but if you can make it through the first two scholastic terms you will have a lot of opportunities to network, to have amazing experiences and even meet a few lifelong mentors. It has been a fantastic experience and during my work term I have solidified what I want to do with my career going forward.”
