Whether you are new to myCareer, our centralized online recruitment system, or have already created an employer account in myCareer and read our employer myCareer User Guide  you may not be aware of all the benefits that come with using it to review, select, and engage potential candidates. Here are six examples of how using myCareer can help you save time and make your hiring process more efficient.

 

1.       All applications are gathered centrally with all application documents for each student together in one file. Students have access to their application until the deadline is reached so they can adjust their application or remove their application if they are no longer interested in the position or if their co-op status changes. A PDF bundle of all applicants to the position (or just the candidates the employer is interested in) can be quickly created and shared with other employees participating in the hiring process.

 

2.       After a job posting expires an email is automatically sent to alert you that the job application deadline has passed.  This email provides you with a link to log into the system to select interview candidates. A link to the employer myCareer User Guide is also provided.

 

3.       Employers that log into myCareer to access their applicant list will have the most up-to-date information concerning applicants. Don’t waste your time offering interviews to students that are no longer available; myCareer reflects a student’s status including if they have accepted another position and cannot be hired for the upcoming work term.

 

4.       Management Career Services staff can assist you arranging interviews with students when applications are collected via myCareer. Indicate in myCareer the interview candidates and then provide interview details via the Schedule Interview wizard. Management Career Services staff will ensure applicants are aware of interviews and confirm dates/times and locations, saving you time and effort in having to make these arrangements.

 

5.       Collection of applications via myCareer also ensures that you receive the maximum number of applications.  Emails will not be accidently sent to an incorrect address or end up in a spam folder.

 

6.       By posting your positions in myCareer you can also draw attention to the position by uploading a company logo to appear on the posting. This is a great and free branding opportunity!
