RE: Graduate Funding Payments Project UPDATE
We would like to update you on the Graduate Funding Payments project (that involved the process currently called the GSPIP process). Many of you would have received our last update on August 28th but this may be new for a few of you as people have requested you to be added to the update email list.
Payment Timing:
- From our last update, the critical decision we were waiting on from our Executive Sponsors was regarding payment timing for students, meaning students being paid by term or by month. After further reviews, discussions, and the student survey, a decision was made that the payment timing will remain at once a month. From a payment timing prospective, it will remain the same. This decision is in large part due to student feedback and responses. We thank all of the students for taking the time to respond to the survey and give feedback! We will be sending a communication directly to grad students soon as well.
Project Timeline:
- The project was not able to move forward until a decision on payment timing was determined. Now that we have this, the project has resumed and further details continue to be captured for the new process. Timing of starting a newly developed graduate funding payment process has still to be worked out. However, we do know this will not be in 2018. When timing for the new process is determined, this will be communicated.
Current GSPIP process:
- We have had some questions regarding the processing of GSPIP’s currently. Until a new process and timing is fully developed and deteremined, please continue to process GSPIP’s as usual until further notice. When a new process and implementation timing is available, we will update you.
Project Manager:
- Please note Pam Perry, with the Project Management Office, will now take over as Project Manager from me for the remainder and implementation of the project.
