This message is intended for those areas that are involved in the Graduate Funding Payment (GFP) system, formally referred to as GSPIPs.
The Graduate Funding Payment (GFP) system will be going live on June 11th. The GFP system will allow departments to manage graduate scholarship funding to students and will replace the manual paper based Graduate Student Payroll Information Profile (GSPIP).
The GFP system will follow the Spending Authority for University Funds Policy. When an account is entered on an award in the GFP system, an email will go to the Unit Authority as defined in the policy (Principal Investigator or individual assigned responsibility for a budget and activities in a Faculty or Major Service or Support Unit) and individuals who have been delegated spending authority on this account and it is within the delegate’s maximum spending limit. Either individual can approve the GFP award. This step must be completed before the student will receive any money.
Please find instructions on how to approve/decline a Spending Authority request for graduate scholarship funding on the Faculty of Graduate Studies website. For other GFP documentation, please go to the Faculty of Graduate Studies website.
If you have any questions about the Graduate Funding Payment (GFP) project, please email the GFP project manager at pam.perry@dal.ca. For questions about Spending Authority, please email finweb@dal.ca.
Thank you
