CEGE Connection is thrilled to launch “Politeness, Power & Conflict Management”, a column by Dr. Oksana Shkurska, Assistant Professor Rowe School of Business. Dr. Shkurska’s research interests include politeness and power in corporate communication, barriers to effective communication, conflict management in intercultural communication, and successful academic and business writing. Her research is interdisciplinary and aims to address the issues of intercultural communication as well as to find more effective methods of internal and external communication in organizations.
Dr. Shkurska was a recipient of the prestigious 2018 Dalhousie Faculty of Management Teaching Excellence Award, which celebrates teachers who, per the award’s guidelines, “display the qualities of superior teaching, excellent understanding of the subject area and interest in the needs of the students.”
