Meet Kaleigh MacMaster and Carson Dillon, the CRMBA duo that represented Dalhousie as one of the top 25 teams in this year’s Canada’s Next Top Ad Exec competition. The competition asks students to come up with a marketing campaign for a new Chevrolet vehicle, starting with a pitch in round 1 and getting more in-depth as the competition goes on. Being a national marketing competition that any Canadian student can enter, the tasks are challenging, the competition is tough and the rewards are astounding! With only 25 teams making it to the second round and 10 teams to the last round, we are very proud of Kaleigh and Carson’s accomplishment in this year’s competition! Here’s what they had to say about the experience:
“Competing in a nation-wide competition was very eye-opening, especially knowing the level of talent of the other competitors. There was a definite sense of pride in being able to represent Dalhousie in the top 25 out of 238 submissions on a national level.
We would definitely recommend that students participate in the competition in the future. It gives you an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a real life scenario and gain experience addressing real company problems. Especially if you are thinking about advertising as a career, CNTAE gives you a taste of what it’s like to work in the ad agency world. Beyond that, CNTAE in particular offers participants the opportunity to earn scholarships, internships, and valuable networking opportunities.”
