Jobpostings Magazine published a list of the top Canadian employers for young people in 2013. So far this year, 31 of the 80 total top employers for young people in Canada have listed jobs on myCareer, and 20 of those jobs were listed through Management Career Services. This competition is organized by the same group that coordinates the “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” competition. “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” has been running for 15 years, and 44 of the 2014 winners have posted jobs on myCareer this year.
What does this mean for Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management students?
It means that “Canada’s Top Employers for Young People” are actively engaging Dalhousie students! It means the opportunity for Dalhousie students and grads to work for companies that have made a commitment to ensuring that they attract top young talent. These companies are dedicated to having a learning culture that promotes personal development and ongoing education, and have taken a focused approach to recruiting young people into co-op and entry level positions with their companies.
Not only are these leading employers engaging students in the workplace, but also right here on campus. The following list is a sample of “Top Employers for Young People” who have been active this fall on the Dalhousie campus by hosting recruiting and information sessions in coordination with MCS.
- Bell Aliant
- Ernst & Young
- P & G
- Fairmont Hotels
- Suncor
- PWC
- Shell Canada
Your next opportunity to connect with a top employer on campus will be during the November 5th Job Search Workshop. Samantha Whitehall, a recruitment specialist from PWC will be co-hosting the workshop with Lori Bauld from Management Career Services. Check myCareer for event details.
