In May 2012, third year Commerce student, Max Vanderwall–Fortier attended the Toronto Corporate Tour hosted by Management Career Services. Max was influenced to participate in the Corporate Tour because he identified the opportunity as a strong starting point for his co-op work term sequence.
“What largely influenced me to sign up for the Toronto Corporate Tour was the learning opportunity; I wanted to know more about different industries and career paths in the Toronto job market. During the Corporate Tour I participated in the finance stream; visiting a number of corporations and banks including BMO Capital Markets, TD Bank Group and CIBC. The most beneficial part of the Corporate Tour was the networking experience. I had the opportunity to make contacts with local industry leaders, which ultimately resulted in a lead (and eventually a position) for my first co-op work term. My recommendation to students thinking about a Corporate Tour is simply, ‘Do It’. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!”
