In celebration of October’s “Healthy Workplace Month”, Dalhousie introduced an annual Healthy Workplace Award. The competition was open to all units in the University, who would be judged on their commitment to six dimensions of wellness including:
- Physical – nutrition, fitness
- Emotional – deal with emotions; share feelings in a healthy and meaningful way
- Intellectual – ability to constantly, and positively, challenge our minds
- Interpersonal/Social – develop and maintain satisfying and supportive relationships
- Spiritual – a feeling of belonging to something greater than oneself; a sense of purpose
- Environmental – surroundings conducive to being our best
The Dean’s Office submitted an entry to the competion and finished in the top three, with Management Career Services taking the top prize. The Dean’s Office encourages other units within the FHP to consider a submission next year.
