As a current or future employer partner of Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management, you will be supported throughout the recruitment process of our talented business students and recent graduates by our Employer Engagement team. With more than 60 years of career development and employer engagement experience between them, they are the dedicated experts on recruiting students and recent grads from five programs in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management:

Every one of our employer partners is assigned a Dalhousie Business Key Contact from our five-person Employer Engagement team to serve as your go-to for all things business recruitment. They are here to support work term and recent grad opportunities across the country.

Cindy Ryan, Employer Engagement Manager

Cindy has been working in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management for more than eight years, first as career coach to students before moving into the Employer Engagement team. She has more than 20 years of professional experience working for not-for-profit, provincial and federal government, and post-secondary institutions and is certified as a National Career Development Practitioner and Competency Assessor. Cindy is passionate about engaging early talent with industry across the country, with an emphasis on relationship building and providing quality service.

Jolene Canning, Employer Engagement Specialist

Jolene is our newest team member and comes with more than 15 years of experience in career development services. She is certified as a National Career Development Practitioner and has supported various initiatives connecting students with the Nova Scotia and Ontario job markets, including Corporate Tours, career fairs, and campus recruitment initiatives. Over the past six years, Jolene has focused on coaching students, generating intentional strategic leads, and building industry connections.

Joseph Habchi, Employer and Funding Specialist

A 2020 graduate of Dalhousie’s Bachelor of Management program, Joseph uses his skills and knowledge to bring exciting career opportunities to students in our business programs and supports employer partners navigating the funding landscape for work-integrated learning. Joining the Faculty of Management as an Operations Assistant and later pivoting to the Employer Engagement team, he has supported the full cycle of the recruitment process from engaging a new employer partner to seeing a student be hired for a role and then thrive in the position.

Austin Morrison, Employer Engagement Specialist

Austin has spent the past two years on our team focusing his employer engagement efforts in the Greater Toronto Area connecting work-integrated learning opportunities with our Dal business students. He has previously worked in external relations across a number of industries and enjoys growing relationships between our school, programs, students, and employer partners.

Lauren Shaw, Employer Engagement Specialist

Lauren has worked in the Faculty of Management since 2015 and on the Employer Engagement team since 2023, supporting organizations across a wide range of industries in Atlantic Canada and beyond. Her experience developing leadership programs for both experienced and emerging leaders has also given her valuable insight into what employer partners are looking for and what helps people grow and succeed in their careers. At the heart of Lauren’s work is a genuine enjoyment of seeing people do well.
