Dr. Nazmul Arefin Khan, a former Postdoctoral Research Associate of DalTRAC, completed his PhD in April 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Ahsan Habib. Nazmul has recently accepted a Computational Transportation Engineer position in the Energy Systems division at Argonne National Laboratory, Chicago, USA. Argonne is the leading sciences and engineering research national laboratory operated by the United States Department of Energy. It maintains a focus on operating national scientific facilities, conducting basic scientific research, enhancing the nation’s energy resources, developing better ways to manage environmental problems, and protecting national security. Nazmul will be working on the development of high-performance transportation system simulation models that will help federal, state and regional decision makers to make decisions on investments and management strategies of intelligent transportation system technologies, connected and automated vehicles, new mobility options, and more. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal, working with Dr. Catherine Morency.
