Festival Report by Christina Walker
Attending FIN: the Atlantic International Film Festival was a great experience, especially as a film student. The film I viewed was Come to Daddy. It was filled with thrilling, frightening, and exciting moments that left me with several questions. The story line was very captivating, and the eccentric characters made the film that much more intriguing. There were some moments in the film that I found quite confusing; however, I actually believe this adds to the eerie style the picture achieves.
The more technical aspects such as editing, sound design, and cinematography went relatively unnoticed for me. There weren’t any moments where these elements particularly stood out for me as a viewer, although I would say I didn’t focus much on these film characteristics because of how I was so locked into the story line.
As for the event itself, it was a welcoming environment. The staff was very friendly, and the Festival was very organized. The whole experience was positive and fun. I would love to attend this event again to view more screenings. I would like to say a great thank you to the CMS program for the giving me the opportunity to attend this event, I highly recommend this festival to any film lover!
