I have feedback for D2L. I don’t like that when you open the rubric to mark an assignment from the dropbox it opens a new window that isn’t truly a new browser window. As soon as this happens you can’t scroll through the student’s work. This means I can’t read their work and mark at the same time as I go. I must either open and close the rubric regularly or I must read through all of their work and then go back and recall where in the rubric it fell and mark the rubric all at once (which is hard when you read the same or similar things over and over, back to back). It also doesn’t open a feedback area, like the weekly assignments. You either provide feedback in the specific area/category of the rubric and ask it to copy that all to a general feedback area or you have to close down the rubric to type into the general feedback area.
This platform is far less user friendly and more time consuming due to extra clicks and back and forth.

Thanks for this post Ann-Marie. I will pass this along to our Brightspace people here at Dal who correspond with Brightspace directly. I think I heard something about this before but I thought it was rectified when it worked well with the weekly discussion grading. Not the same for assignments. Darn
