It’s back this year and online! Tickets for the United Way 50/50 draw can be purchased here. Deadline to purchase tickets is Monday, December 14 at 11:59 p.m. Draw will be December 16. Please note: The lottery licence limits the purchase of tickets to those living in Nova Scotia.

Last November, various units and faculties across Dalhousie participated in a dodgeball tournament to raise funds for our United Way campaign. The tournament raised $2,200 for the United Way! Thanks to everyone who took part and who contributed to the entry fees!

2nd place was the Faculty of Medicine (I’m not a Doctor, but I play one on this team)

We will be launching our annual United Way campaign on November 16, 2020.

This is a year unlike any other and we’ve adjusted our campaign in recognition of this. Our goal this year is to raise $110,000 to support worthy organizations that make significant contributions in our communities of Halifax, Truro, and Saint John. We appreciate your support if you’re able to give and we understand if can’t support the campaign this year because your own circumstances have changed.

The 50/50 draw will be online this year. Tickets will go on sale November 23. Stay tuned for updates!

Dalhousie’s United Way Steering Committee would like to thank the Dalhousie community for their outstanding support. Through casual days, bake sales, 50/50 ticket sales, donations, and more, together we raised $137,382 to fight poverty-related issues in our communities. Thank you, Dalhousie!

Last week, we awarded the top prizes to the workplace challenge winners. Congratulations to the Faculty of Medicine who once again took home the top spot for the most money raised and to Human Resources for the highest participation. Well done, everyone!

Congratulations to Kathy Eisan, who works at the Kellogg Library, on winning the United Way 50/50 draw at the annual carol sing. Kathy received just over $1,000.

On Thursday, October 10, The Big Sing helped us kick off our 2019 #DalUnited Way campaign. Thanks to all who came — it was a great afternoon!

All are welcome to attend a free event to kick off the 2019 United Way Campaign, which will run October 15–30. The event will feature a sing-along of The Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” led by The Big Sing. The kick-off event is free and open to all staff, faculty and students. Light refreshments will be served.
