Following the DALVision 2020 event last week, and in order to continue community dialogue concerning academic innovation at Dalhousie, several sessions are planned involving speakers and discussion periods.
On November 30, 2012, there will be a presentation given called The Promise and Perils of Innovation: Competitive Challenges to the Traditional Higher Education Model. Designed primarily for senior administrators, the session is open to interested members of the Dalhousie community.
The session offers evidence-based insights concerning what nontraditional instructional models, degree programs and teaching technologies will have the greatest next-decade impact, and how innovators are evolving funding and faculty engagement practices to make the best of inevitable change.
The session is presented by researchers from the Education Advisory Board which provides best practice research and practical advice to leaders of academic affairs; business affairs; student affairs; continuing, online, and professional education; and community colleges across North America.
