Calling all local employers who are seeking fresh and innovative engagement and recruitment initiatives! We’re actively seeking organizations to get involved in the Workplace Experience Program this summer and the C3 Mentoring Program and Halifax Corporate Tour this fall. Familiarize yourself with the unique and enriching benefits each of our partnership and hosting opportunities has to offer:
The Workplace Experience Program provides international students in Dalhousie’s Bachelor of Commerce Co-op program with an opportunity to gain comfort and confidence in the Canadian workplace by observing it first-hand, and enables host organizations to gain access to potential future employees that they might otherwise not have the opportunity to consider. Our enthusiastic group of 2015 WEP student participants are eagerly awaiting to be matched with Halifax-based employers before the end of July to secure a 35-hour unpaid shadowing type experience this summer. Contact Jennifer.Coombs@dal.ca to discover how you can play an active role in shaping the career discovery and readiness of an international student.
The Halifax Corporate Tour is one of our most popular career development events. Last fall 40 Rowe School of Business students in 3 streams (Marketing, Finance/Accounting, Discovery) ventured to 12 different workplaces to discover first-hand what it’s like to work there and pursue a career path in those fields. Students love the experiential learning of bringing the classroom to the boardroom and getting a first-hand look at a company’s culture; participating employers enjoy the benefit of having the undivided attention of Dal’s best and brightest young business minds. The results are eye-opening, influential, and engaging. Employers interested in hosting our students for the next Halifax Corporate Tour in November 2015 are invited to express their interest to Gillian.Fowler@dal.ca from now through September 15, 2015.
The C3 Mentoring Program, formerly known as the National Mentoring Program is the perfect fit for employers looking to put corporate social responsibility into action. Your partnership enables a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management student to complete a project-driven work term for a non-profit organization of your choice while receiving mentorship from a professional you designate from within your ranks. Learn more about the C3 Mentorship Program and express your interest in becoming a “Corporate Community Connector” to Gillian.Fowler@dal.ca from now through September 15, 2015.
