Our curbside pickup service has expanded to include alumni and off-campus borrowers!
Circulating materials from most Novanet libraries are now available by placing a hold through the Novanet catalogue. Materials can be picked up at the Kellogg, Killam, MacRae, and Sexton libraries. The Sir James Dunn Law Library is still currently limiting their curbside service to current Dalhousie students, faculty, and staff.
More information about the curbside pickup service is available here: https://libraries.dal.ca/borrow/curbside-pickup-service.html
I would like to borrow, through curbside service, four more volumes of The Dalhousie Review,
AP5 D14 vol. 93.1-3, 96.1-3, 98.1-3 and 99.1-3.
I realize that this is a non-circulating item, but I have special permission from the Dean of Libraries,
the Archivist, and Karen Smith (Special Collections) to borrow this item. See my previous requests.
I can’t seem to locate the form previously used to request curbisde delivery. Hope this works.
Hello Mr. Huebert,
Thank you for your request. I will pass this on to Karen Smith. You are correct, the curbside form has been taken down because the hold function in Novanet has been restored. The ability to place holds in Novanet had been suppressed when all of the Nova Scotia universities closed in the spring, so we had to create our own form when we launched the curbside service earlier this summer. Sincerely, Marlo MacKay, Communications Coordinator
Yes, I need to access library books in preparation for class. When will Curbside Service be up and running? Can we perhaps place orders via phone or email until the form is up and running?
thanks,
Colin Mitchell
Hello Mr. Mitchell,
The Curbside Service has been running since June 8 for current Dalhousie faculty, students, and staff. At that time, the holds function in the Novanet catalogue had been suppressed as all Novanet libraries were closed, so we had to create a customized form so our users could place holds on materials from the Dalhousie Libraries only.
On August 25, we announced that we had expanded the curbside service for alumni and off-campus borrowers. At that time, we also announced that circulating items from other Novanet libraries were now available.
The Novanet holds function has been restored in the catalogue, so there is no need for a special form any longer. You can place your holds through the Novanet catalogue as you normally would and you will be notified by email when your items are ready for pick up, which will be via our curbside service. If you have any other questions about the curbside service, please contact curbside@dal.ca Sincerely, Marlo MacKay Communications Coordinator
