From Prof.Grant Wach: Tuesday evening in Madrid it was announced that Dalhousie Earth Science students Darragh O’Connor, Charlie Carlisle and Connor Wentzell finished first of 45 university teams from around the World in the EAGE FIELD competition! The FIELD competition is hosted by the European Association of Geologists and Engineers and pits universities from around the world in an intense competition where teams have seven weeks to assess a geological and engineering database and complete an evaluation of a petroleum field. Several Dalhousie EAGE student chapter members are currently in Madrid, Spain, attending the 77th EAGE Conference & Exhibition. Phillip Sedore (Chapter president), Paige Montgomery, Charles Carlise, Darragh O'Connor, and Connor Wentzell arrived in Spain on Saturday and will compete in the EAGE Geo-Quiz tomorrow afternoon, against university students from around the world. Days after Lab members win a spot to compete in this year's EAGE Field Challenge 2015 in Madrid, Spain, Dalhousie's EAGE Student Chapter claims 1st place in the EAGE Online Geo-Quiz, held each year for EAGE Student Chapters around the world. Dalhousie Earth Science recently founded a student chapter of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) - proof that geology knows no borders!
